LEADERSHIP ![]() Beth Weesner, Founder Beth Weesner is the Principal of Marketing Transformation Services (MTS), a consulting practice offering services for companies who want to leverage technology to impact the hard (money & productivity) and soft (people & motivation) investments to their bottom lines. MTS helps business leaders and their teams develop and execute effective strategies that meet today’s dynamically shifting requirements while providing a flexible foundation for future continued innovation and measurement of marketing. Beth’s approach is characterized by straight talk, the ability to woo stakeholders and an uncanny knack for articulating the underlying business cases to gain executive sponsorship for marketing transformation initiatives. With strategic insight, she ensures adoption by predicting hurdles and identifying pitfalls based on experience and knowledge of multiple technology implementations. As an early pioneer in the MRM space, Beth possesses a breadth and depth of experience that is rare and unchallenged in the field. She has advised hundreds of marketing executives on how to successfully execute the vision of Enterprise Marketing Management, and has been instrumental in guiding over 40 client engagements. Beth’s business foundation includes more than six years working with marketing automation field leaders as an industry expert. She was responsible for guiding product development, marketing, sales, analyst and investor relations, and held key roles in the Marketing Resource Management (MRM), Marketing Automation and Marketing Performance Management groups, with industry leaders such as Aprimo and Unica. She established and cultivated relationships with numerous client partners, including Accenture and IBM. Prior to entering the marketing automation space, Beth held key positions with leading companies in the telecommunications and consumer product industries. Beth has a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego University in Business and Marketing. Beth has come to be recognized as an industry expert and has presented at numerous conferences, meetings and trade shows to provide thought leadership on the topic of Marketing Automation. ![]() Shawn Mielke, President Shawn Mielke joined Marketing Transformation Services in October of 2007, with an extensive background in multi-channel marketing (online and offline) both B2C and B2B. He currently sits on the Interactive Marketing Advisory Board (IMAB) and is actively involved with the Direct Marketing Association (DMA). Prior to leading MTS, Shawn was Senior Vice President of Online Customer Management at Wells Fargo where he oversaw the marketing of over ten million online banking customers. Prior to Wells Fargo, he spent four years at eBay where he ran all onsite and offline direct marketing efforts to its eighty-plus million registered users in the U.S. In addition to being responsible for all marketing communications emails directed to the eBay's community base, Shawn led the team that launched the first DM offline mailings to support customer demand and seller education in 2004. He also held the position of executive sponsor of eBay's MRM initiative. In addition, Shawn served as Vice President of marketing for B2B Brand Group (T.Shipley, Awards.com, and Reliable Home Office), managing their on-and-offline efforts and was Vice President of Marketing for Seta Corporation. Shawn began his marketing career at Fingerhut and Montgomery Ward Direct. ![]() Larissa DeCarlo, Vice President Consulting Services Larissa DeCarlo joined MTS in August of 2008. Larissa is one of the most visible Marketing Operations professionals in the field, having founded MOCCA (Marketing Operations Cross-Company Alliance, a professional network with more than 160 members and 60 member companies) and having held Marketing Operations posts at three companies of varying size. She recently served as Vice President of Marketing Operations at Blue Coat Systems, where she led a team responsible for marketing efficiency, metrics, strategic planning, product launch and integration with other organizations for cross-company infrastructure initiatives and new processes. Before Blue Coat Systems, Larissa consulted at Symantec on the development of their annual Marketing plan and served as Senior Director, Marketing Planning & Operations, for Hyperion Solutions, where she formed and managed the Marketing Operations function. Larissa has also directed analyst relations at Hyperion and Silicon Graphics (SGI); investor relations at Cadence and SGI; and served as customer briefing center manager at SGI and IBM. Larissa began her marketing career at IBM, where she also was EMEA business development manager, product marketing manager, campaign manager and technical writer. Larissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from the University of California in Los Angeles and got her early education in France. ![]() Back to Top
