TEAM ![]() Beth Weesner, Founder & CEO Beth Weesner is the CEO of Marketing Transformation Services and a preeminent authority on Marketing Automation. As an early pioneer in the space, Beth possesses a breadth and depth of experience that is unchallenged. She has advised hundreds of marketing executives on how to successfully optimize marketing technology and has been instrumental in guiding over 40 Fortune 500 client engagements. Beth’s approach is characterized by straight talk, the ability to engage stakeholders, and an uncanny knack for articulating the underlying business cases to gain executive sponsorship for marketing transformation initiatives. With strategic insight, Beth ensures successful deployments by predicting hurdles and identifying pitfalls based on experience with dozens of technology implementations. Beth’s business foundation includes more than six years working with Marketing Automation field leaders, including guiding product development, marketing, sales and analyst and investor relations. She has held key roles in the Marketing Resource Management, Marketing Automation and Marketing Performance Management groups within industry leaders such as Aprimo and Unica, and was instrumental in establishing and cultivating relationships with numerous client partners, including Accenture and IBM. Prior to entering the Marketing Automation space, Beth held key positions with leading companies in the telecommunications and consumer product industries. Beth sits on the Marketing Technology Council for the DMA, the Leaders Board for Women In Consulting, As a recognized industry expert, Beth has presented at numerous conferences, meetings, and trade shows to provide thought leadership on the topic of Marketing Automation.
![]() Brenda Kring, Vice President Consulting Services Brenda Kring, Vice President of Consulting Services, has fifteen years experience in marketing operations, demand generation and communications in the enterprise software industry. She has a proven track record in working across marketing, sales and IT teams to develop successful demand generation programs with best practice, closed loop tracking and measurement. Prior to MTS, Brenda was Director, Demand Generation for CyberSource, where she was responsible for pipeline performance. Brenda worked extensively with both marketing and sales to deliver increased sales pipeline with improved demand generation programs as well as measurement and tracking. This work was recognized by SiriusDecisions when they awarded CyberSource with their 2009 Return on Integration Award. Brenda was the lead business owner for the implementation, integration and management of CyberSource’s marketing automation platform. This resulted in increased efficiencies in creative development, data management, and lead management; which was recognized by Eloqua as a finalist for Markie Award for Marketing Center of Excellence. Brenda was also Director, Marketing Operations for ILOG, an IBM Company, where she oversaw the team responsible for the development and execution of demand generation, marketing operations and branding activities for the North American region. She has served on the board of directors for MOCCA (Marketing Operations Cross Company Alliance) and the Silicon Valley America Marketing Association. Brenda holds an MBA in Marketing from California State University, Hayward.
![]() Michael Emerson, Senior Consultant Michael Emerson is one of the country’s leading technology and marketing strategists. He led the marketing function at Aprimo, a visionary provider of enterprise marketing management software. During his tenure as CMO of Aprimo, his marketing leadership led to the near doubling of Aprimo bookings and the establishment of Aprimo has the defacto leader in the emerging technology category of Enterprise Marketing Management (EMM). Prior to Aprimo, Mr. Emerson was the GM of EMM product line at Siebel Systems. In the final year leading up to the Oracle acquisition, his product line generated over $40MM in software revenue. He led the launch of the loyalty and real-time marketing applications, both of which remain key products for Siebel Marketing in the years following the Oracle acquisition. Prior to Siebel, Mr. Emerson was a founding executive of Protagona. Under his leadership, Protagona pioneered the marketing campaign management category. His vision to integrate operations, analytics, and work flow are fundamental to all marketing software today. Prior to Protagona, Mr. Emerson led major marketing and business intelligence projects at Ernst and Young, working for major clients such as ATT and Citicorp. Mr. Emerson has had a passion for new ideas and a focus on making them provide value for his clients. He was granted a patent on data access technology in the mid 1990s when others were still trying to figure out how to leverage terabytes of data for marketing value. He defined the concept and term “Customer Experience Management” in the late 1990s while others were articulating this concept. While at Aprimo he has led the effort to define the core concepts tenants of Enterprise Marketing Management. Mr. Emerson graduated summa cum laude in psychology at Bethel University in Minneapolis and is a PhD candidate in industrial psychology at the University of Minnesota.
![]() Benoît Stephenson, Director of Implementation Services Benoît Stephenson has more than sixteen years of experience in information technology, including seven years of very solid experience in Marketing Automation (focusing of Interactive Marketing and Enterprise Marketing Management) processes and technology offerings. Benoît worked for Unica Corporation, one of the leaders in the Marketing Automation space, for 7 years where he was a Senior Director, managing projects, implementations, customers, and partners. During his career, Benoît accumulated thirteen years of experience working within Professional Services organizations where he has worked on numerous types of projects, covering a wide variety of territories, countries, industries and business practice types. He has strong core skills in strategic application business analysis, architecture and design. Over the years, he has managed many different types of customer accounts, partners, teams and projects.
![]() Sophie O’Neal, Consultant Sophie O'Neal is a Senior Business Analyst who helps organizations maximize their strategic investment in marketing automation. Her consulting expertise includes defining business requirements for system implementation and expansion, determining optimal business structures and processes, conducting vendor evaluation and selection, and guiding organizations through change, helping clients turn transition into a force for innovation and success. As principal since 1995 of San Francisco based consulting firm Synergy Business Solutions, Sophie brings an entrepreneurial approach to large-scale decisions, systems, and processes. Sophie’s client relationships span the private, public, and non-profit sectors, including Wells Fargo Bank, Move Inc., GeoVera Insurance, American Red Cross Bay Area, and the City and County of San Francisco. Previously Sophie was a marketing and management consultant specializing in high-tech business startups. She was manager of marketing services for Applied Graphics Technologies in NYC, where she led cross-functional teams in strategic analysis and planning efforts. She also has worked in the non-profit sector for The Children’s Aid Society and in advertising. Sophie served on the Executive Planning Committee for The San Francisco Small Business and Entrepreneurial Forum, and chaired its Community Building and Involvement session. A fourth generation San Franciscan and ninth generation Californian, Sophie is proud to be an alumnus of Leadership San Francisco (LSF), is a member of LSF’s Board of Directors, and chairs its Website committee. Sophie holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.

![]() Shawn Mielke, Advisor & Senior Consultant Shawn Mielke is on the Advisory Board for Marketing Transformation Services (formerly President of MTS) and a specialist in the areas of both B2C and B2B multi-channel marketing (online and offline). He is currently founder of SECA Marketing Partners, a consulting firm specializing in direct response, ecommerce, and analytical strategy and implementation. Prior to joining MTS, Shawn was Senior Vice President of Online Customer Management at Wells Fargo where he oversaw marketing efforts that impacted over ten million online banking customers. Prior to Wells Fargo, Shawn spent four years at eBay where he ran the online and offline direct marketing efforts for its eighty-plus million registered users in the U.S.. In addition to being responsible for all marketing communications directed to eBay's community base, Shawn led the team that launched the first direct marketing offline mailings to support customer demand and seller education. He was also the internal executive sponsor of eBay's marketing automation initiative utilizing Unica and Aprimo technologies. Shawn’s extensive marketing background includes roles as Vice President of marketing for B2B Brand Group (T.Shipley, Awards.com, and Reliable Home Office) and Vice President of Marketing for Seta Corporation. He began his marketing career at Fingerhut and Montgomery Ward Direct.
