Beth Weesner, Founder & CEO

Over the past ten years, Ms. Weesner has established herself as a thought leader and visionary in the emerging field of marketing automation.  She is the Founder and CEO of Marketing Transformation Services (MTS), a strategic consultancy dedicated to transforming Global 2000 marketing organizations.  Her clients have utilized her organization as a trusted advisor to achieve differentiated business success. 

She has held leadership roles in the Direct Marketing Association (The DMA) and was the founder and chair of the Marketing Operations Management Symposium.  Prior to founding MTS, she held senior positions at Aprimo and Unica, the two leaders in the marketing technology space.  She was a significant force in the emergence of marketing resource management (MRM) as a defacto standard at marketing operations functions around the world.

Beth sits on the board of directors for the College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU).  She also has board positions with several international philanthropic organizations.

Some of Ms. Weesner’s specific accomplishments include:

  • Defining a course for the early stage development of MRM to automate core operational processes of marketing.
  • Establishing relationships with  HP, Intel, eBay, IBM, Nortel, REI, HSBC, Adobe, Symantec, Rubbermaid, Intuit and Google.
  • Holding leadership roles at industry leaders, Aprimo and Unica.  At Unica, she led a core group that created Unica Plan.
  • Serving as an industry thought leader through speaking, writing, and blogging.
  • Building a network of technology partners including companies such as Aprimo, Unica, Siebel, Oracle, Alterian, and Adobe.

Brenda Kring, Vice President Consulting Services

Brenda Kring, Vice President of Consulting Services, has fifteen years experience in marketing operations, demand generation and communications in the enterprise software industry. She has a proven track record in working across marketing, sales and IT teams to develop successful demand generation programs with best practice, closed loop tracking and measurement.

Prior to MTS, Brenda was Director, Demand Generation for CyberSource, where she was responsible for pipeline performance. Brenda worked extensively with both marketing and sales to deliver increased sales pipeline with improved demand generation programs as well as measurement and tracking. This work was recognized by SiriusDecisions when they awarded CyberSource with their 2009 Return on Integration Award. Brenda was the lead business owner for the implementation, integration and management of CyberSource’s marketing automation platform. This resulted in increased efficiencies in creative development, data management, and lead management; which was recognized by Eloqua as a finalist for Markie Award for Marketing Center of Excellence.

Brenda was also Director, Marketing Operations for ILOG, an IBM Company, where she oversaw the team responsible for the development and execution of demand generation, marketing operations and branding activities for the North American region. She has served on the board of directors for MOCCA (Marketing Operations Cross Company Alliance) and the Silicon Valley America Marketing Association. Brenda holds an MBA in Marketing from California State University, Hayward.

Sophie O’Neal, Consultant

Sophie O'Neal is a Senior Business Analyst who helps organizations maximize their strategic investment in marketing automation. Her consulting expertise includes defining business requirements for system implementation and expansion, determining optimal business structures and processes, conducting vendor evaluation and selection, and guiding organizations through change, helping clients turn transition into a force for innovation and success. As principal since 1995 of San Francisco based consulting firm Synergy Business Solutions, Sophie brings an entrepreneurial approach to large-scale decisions, systems, and processes.

Sophie’s client relationships span the private, public, and non-profit sectors, including Wells Fargo Bank, Move Inc., GeoVera Insurance, American Red Cross Bay Area, and the City and County of San Francisco. Previously Sophie was a marketing and management consultant specializing in high-tech business startups. She was manager of marketing services for Applied Graphics Technologies in NYC, where she led cross-functional teams in strategic analysis and planning efforts. She also has worked in the non-profit sector for The Children’s Aid Society and in advertising.

Sophie served on the Executive Planning Committee for The San Francisco Small Business and Entrepreneurial Forum, and chaired its Community Building and Involvement session. A fourth generation San Franciscan and ninth generation Californian, Sophie is proud to be an alumnus of Leadership San Francisco (LSF), is a member of LSF’s Board of Directors, and chairs its Website committee. Sophie holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
